Gratitude • Shadow Work • Transformation

Moths, like butterflies, symbolize transformation. Unlike butterflies, they focus more on the shadow side, as moths are active at night. Shadow does not relate to being bad or dark. It means that moths, on the one hand, draw more attention to the transformations within ourselves. They focus on turning inward and embracing and accepting transformation from within. On the other hand, the moth as a spirit animal asks for attention to everything you already love and can be grateful for right now.

Sometimes we long for change, such as material things, freedom, or improvement (when you’re not feeling well or are sick). The moth does not ask you to be against change—quite the opposite! The moth simply asks you not to lose sight of what you have in the here and now.

This also applies to yourself. It’s perfectly fine if you want to change yourself, learn new things, live healthier, or pursue personal growth. But don’t make it a requirement to love yourself afterward. There is already plenty to love about yourself now. You are enough! Do not lose sight of these elements in the desire for change.
