About the Design | ☽ Tree of Life ☾

This illustration is inspired by the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life (or Tree of Life / Cosmic Tree / Sacred Tree) is a beautiful tree with strong branches reaching towards the sky and deep roots firmly anchored in the ground.

The Tree of Life is a symbol that appears in many cultures, each carrying its own meaning. In general, it can be said that it is a symbol of life and forms a connection with everything around us, both visible and invisible.

It represents life in the here and now and the ability to move with all the changes. The seasons, day and night, rest & stillness, and action & growth. It is also the connection to everything that is invisible. According to Celtic beliefs, the roots represent the other world, the trunk the mortal world, and the branches the upper world/heaven. Therefore, the Tree of Life also connects the earthly world with the spiritual realms. All in all, it is a symbol with profound and significant meaning.

The illustration was first sketched on paper and then digitally colored. Traditional materials & textures were used (such as paint textures and handmade marble paper).
